The area surrounding Jinks Cottage has plenty to do. It is conveniently located at the foothills of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains, as well as a short drive away from Abergavenny, with its surrounding mountains providing a wealth of activities for you to enjoy.

Here are some suggestions for your stay:

Abergavenny features weekly markets, leisure facilities, swimming pool, castle, theatre and short walks along the River Usk.

In the city of Hereford, there are plenty of tourist attractions, including Bulmer's Cider Museum, Cathedral & Mappa Mundi as well as plenty of facilities for leisure and recreation.

In the South Wales valleys, there are many small towns with plenty to see. For example, you can visit the Big Pit mining museum, Blaenavon steel works, Merthyr Tydfil steam railway, St Fagan's Museum of Welsh Life and more.

There are plenty of activities to do in the Brecon Beacons, such as walking, cycling, pony trekking, caving and paragliding. In the Forest of Dean you can also enjoy walking, cycling, badger watches, sculpture trail and also visit the steam railway or the show caves. If you visit the River Wye, you can go canoeing, fishing, or just mess about on the river!
